We're thrilled you've registered for AI Open House Basel on September 26-27, 2025, at Markthalle Steinentorberg. Your participation comes at a historic moment – Switzerland has just launched Apertus, our first fully open, transparent, and multilingual large language model, developed by EPFL, ETH Zurich, and the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre.
Why This Matters Now
Apertus isn't just another AI model. It's Switzerland's statement about how AI should be built: open, transparent, and inclusive. With 8 billion and 70 billion parameter versions supporting over 1,000 languages, including Swiss national and minority languages, it represents everything we believe AI can be. Unlike closed systems, Apertus makes its architecture, training data, and documentation fully public.
This launch is why we created AI Open House Basel as part of Swiss AI Weeks (September 1 - October 5, 2025) – a nationwide series with 160+ events across 24 cities, bringing together 150+ partner organizations from academia, industry, and government.
Your Program is Ready
Friday (11 AM - 6 PM): Business-focused sessions covering AI in cantonal administration, business applications, leadership, and the future of Swiss AI.
Saturday (11 AM - 4 PM): Open program for everyone – families, students, seniors, and AI-curious individuals exploring everyday AI applications.
